The 2008 K-12 Online Conference is a free, international, online event for educators around the globe. The purpose of the conference is to advance the use of leading-edge educational technologies (specifically web 2.0 tools) in the cause of high-quality K-12 teaching and learning, worldwide. The conference, and related information, is located at: http://k12onlineconference.org. A panel of distinguished technology educators from the U.S. and several other nations select presenters via a blind review process. All conference staff and presenters volunteer their time free of charge.
This year (as in 2006 and 2007) 41 presentations will be published online asynchronously from October 13-31, 2008. Most are multi-media lectures or screencasts available in both iPod-compatible video podcast and audio mp3 versions. Published presentations include links to supplementary materials.Participants in this workshop will learn how to use the Flip digital camcorder within their curriculum. Time will be dedicated to the technology how to side of using the Flip camcorder as well as how it can be integrated within content areas of the school curriculum and the pedagogical side of using the Flip in participant’s instruction.
- Participants in this workshop will learn how to use the Mimio interactive white board unit within their curriculum. Time will be dedicated to the technology how to side of using a Mimio interactive white board as well as how it can be integrated within content areas of the school curriculum and the pedagogical side of using a Mimio in participant’s instruction. Skills and discussions could be applied to any other interactive white board system (like Promethean or SMART).
Participants in this workshop will learn how to use the Flip digital camcorder within their curriculum. Time will be dedicated to the technology how to side of a digital audio recording device as well as how it can be integrated within content areas of the school curriculum and the pedagogical side of using a digital audio recording device in participant’s instruction.
- Participants in this workshop will learn how to use the United Streaming website/service within their curriculum. Time will be dedicated to the basics of their services as well as how it can be integrated within content areas of the school curriculum and the pedagogical side of using United Streaming in participant’s instruction.
